Coal Mine Refuge Chamber
Like all other machinery and materials used in coal mines, Coal Type Refuge Chamber should operate in a manner that will not cause flames and explosions. (ATEX, EX-PROOF) Coal Type Refuge Chambers require a compressed air line and liquid CO2 to operate in emergency situations.
Aysan’s Coal Type Refuge Chamber operates with closed-loop liquid CO2 storage and compressed mine air. It performs both cooling and toxic gas cleaning with it that can be extended from 36 hours to 96 hours. Chambers can be seen even in poor lighting conditions from outside with reflective strips and instructions also have chemical light sticks as an internal feature. Moreover, there is a siren which alerts people. (ATEX certified warning lights)
The door of the chamber is designed with a double locking handle system and a special design gasket. With its airlock system, refuge chamber prevents toxic (containing poisonous, suffocating) air that entering in it. The pneumatic air curtain system also prevents the entry of toxic air through the airflow directed towards the floor through the chamber door.
Coal Type Refuge Chamber has a filter system that converts the compressed air of the mine into breathing air. Breathable air support is provided continuously as long as the mine air is not interrupted. If the air is interrupted or soiled that itcan not be inhaled, the CO2 and CO gases damping system (Scrubber) is activated.
The dimensions of the chambers vary according to the requested life support time and mine section measurements. Mobile or modular type chambers can be manufactured in the desired size. Standart chamber design withstands 5 psi blast pressure which can be increased up to 15 psi.
