AYSAN Tunneling Refuge Chambers are engineered to provide a secure and life-sustaining environment for tunneling crews during emergency situations where evacuation is no longer possible. In such scenarios, the chamber serves as a protected gathering and extraction point, designed to meet all essential physiological and safety needs of the personnel.

The chamber incorporates a highly efficient air filtration system that converts mine air supplied through the compressed air line into clean, breathable air. In the event of air interruption or contamination, the CO₂ and CO scrubbing system is automatically activated to maintain safe atmospheric conditions.

Equipped with a robust air conditioning system, the chamber prevents dangerous heat buildup and heat stress—one of the most critical risks in prolonged entrapment situations. Continuous battery backup ensures uninterrupted power for all life-support systems for 36 to 96 hours depending on configuration.

AYSAN Tunneling Chambers can be manufactured in various sizes and capacities and can be configured for ground-mounted, rail-mounted, or vehicle-mounted applications. They are specifically engineered for demanding environments including drill-and-blast tunneling, TBM operations, and confined tunnel infrastructure projects.
